Wisconsin Woman Mikayla Kloth Charged with First-Degree Homicide in Fatal Stabbing of Boyfriend Lukas Rosch During Argument

A Wisconsin community is grappling with shock and grief following a tragic incident that left a young man dead and his girlfriend facing a first-degree homicide charge.

Authorities say 27-year-old Mikayla R. Kloth, of the Lac La Belle/Okauchee area, is accused of fatally stabbing her 25-year-old boyfriend, Lukas J. Rosch, during a domestic argument on April 24. According to a criminal complaint, the dispute reportedly began over dinner plans—Kloth allegedly wanted to go out to eat, while Rosch had brought home food to prepare.

Investigators say the disagreement escalated into violence, with Kloth admitting to pushing a knife into Rosch’s chest after he grabbed the blade. Emergency responders transported Rosch to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Kloth was taken into custody and has since made her initial court appearance. A judge set her bond at $2 million cash, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 29. According to authorities, she made statements to police indicating a lack of concern about the consequences.

Family members of Rosch are mourning a devastating loss, remembering him as a deeply compassionate and generous person whose life was cut short far too soon. In an emotional plea, his father urged that justice be served.

Court documents also reveal a troubling incident just a week prior, in which Rosch had reportedly expressed fear after an alleged altercation involving Kloth.

As the case moves through the legal system, the tragedy serves as a stark reminder of how quickly domestic conflicts can turn deadly, leaving families and communities forever changed.
